Kris Boyle, Owner of TrueNorth Marketing Speaks About Having it All in the January 2007 Issue of Business Strategies Magazine.

The concept of “having it all” is widely promoted by the media. Can women really live up to that image?

KB. Having it all is great but doing it all, is where that perception meets reality. If a woman decides to have it all, she should check her intentions first. I can live harmoniously running a business, having a family and a good lifestyle because I choose to – not because I feel I have to. Have you ever heard a colleague complain that they are overextended, stressed or in a bad relationship? Some people can be upper-class slaves to their possessions and lifestyle by making choices that were not good for them in the long run. The perception of their goal was to have it all, but the intention to do it and the stress encountered to achieve it, were not considered for a lifetime of sustainability.

I believe everything I do should be for personal growth. We exist to grow – older, wiser and happier – and everything in life is a by-product of the choices we make. Make course corrections to balance self, family, and possessions for the sake of happiness. Never ask yourself, what will people think if I make this choice? Ask yourself, will it make me happier and allow me to grow? Be happy with your life choices and you’ll be more productive in whatever you do, and therefore “have it all” any way you want.
