Calvauto.com – Featured Site

The Calvary Automation web site (www.calvauto.com) was a major web site redesign project. The existing site at the time of the redesign was a simple HTML web site that Calvary maintained minimally for years that did not reflect the growth, new services and operational excellence that they had since achieved. TrueNorth was asked to build a new site based on a strategy and structure that elevated Calvary into the ranks of the foremost automation companies of the world.
First, TrueNorth worked with Calvary to determine the functionalities they wanted to see in their new site. Most important, a site that was easy to maintain by Calvary Marketing staff without having to use an outside agency. Next, through client/agency strategy sessions, a new site structure was designed that organized products and services to be presented in a way that maximized site usability and informational presentation to visitors. Finally, a progressive graphic design was applied to the site that used eye catching industry graphics and “focal point” text that could be controlled and tweaked by Calvary Marketing staff.
The new design provided the high-tech, professional look and feel Calvary needed to position themselves as a leader in the automation industry. Geared towards engineering professionals, the site fisrt presents a very visual approach with large graphics and photos relevant to the industry within the copy. By using bold color and visual cues the site clearly differentiates between industry for quick navigation and each industry served has their own home page for an easy to navigate content experience for users.
“The TrueNorth team put together an awesome website for us.” Says Mark Chaney, CEO, Calvary Automation. “I can honestly say that we got a $50k looking website for $20k. Customers tell us that we have the most professional looking website in our industry.”
The functionality developed for the new site includes a custom administration tool with a wealth of admin options for site updates by Calvary Marketing staff. Updates can be text or graphics and the admin tool is as user-friendly and easy to learn as MicroSoft Word. Training usally takes about an hour for the TrueNorth admin tool solution. And it is custom, therefore, the client owns the tool set on delivery and is not locked into a “boxed” solution with allot of ongoing ancillary fees. The site also includes a secure file transfer function between Calvary and their clients for proprietary drawings and documentation with large file sizes that are too large to e-mail. The tools applied to Calvary not only add more value for Calvary and their visitors, but also have extended the life of the site. By keeping the development behind the site and maintenace tools up to date, like software, the site will now always be less expensive to upgrade.
This web site took one year from concept to completion and was launched in 2008. Since launch, TrueNorth has been working with Calvary on planning additional features to be introduced to the site over the coming years.
